Community Access at UnitingCare Ballarat

United Way Ballarat’s Board of Directors is made up entirely of volunteers.  These amazing people each bring a skill set and knowledge base that together provide powerful leadership to the organisation. Mandy Macdonald, Co-Deputy Chair, was recently highlighted in the Australian Unity Members Magazine Flourish in a story about the benefits of volunteering. See the story here

Running over seven days (and nights) from 19 August to 17 September 2017 there is bound to be a shift and role you can assist with. Shifts lengths vary dependant on the role and you can pick the times and days that best suit you. A gallery attendant for example would typically be rostered for 3 1/2 hours on a morning or afternoon..

Volunteer Lifeline Telephone Crisis Supporters

Lifeline Ballarat is recruiting for its next intake of volunteers to complete the Crisis Supporter Workplace Training commencing August 2017. This is the first step to becoming a volunteer Telephone Crisis Supporter and making a real difference in peoples’ lives. The generous support of the community is crucial to financing The Salvation Army's network of social and community programs in Ballarat.

Red Shield Appeal Volunteers

Support the 2017 Red Shield Neighbourhood Appeal by volunteering as a collector for just two or three hours and you can give hope where it's needed most. There are a couple of ways you can get involved including collecting at a shopping centre, outside a Bunnings store or at an intersection. (intersection requirement are, able-bodied and over the age of 16) The generous support of the community is crucial to financing The Salvation Army's network of social and community programs in Ballarat. The Red Shield Appeal is a fun and meaningful opportunity for people to help others in our community who are struggling with homelessness, domestic violence, unemployment, family crisis and addictions.
