What is Home and Community Care (HACC)
HACC is a joint Federal/State program to assist frail, aged and people with disabilities to live independently in the community and thus prevent premature or inappropriate admission to long-term residential care. The program also assists carers of these people.

Telelink Facilitator (Ballarat Regional Multicultural Council – A025)
Support and facilitate the local Filipino community to speak their national language. Planning activities, the facilitator will be required to support a group of up to nine Filipinos with telephone conversations lasting up to 45min at least once a week.
The aim is for participants:
- To build friendships, and provide information and education to the group.
- To work with the co-ordinator in planning activities.
- To maintain independence in the comfort of their own home.
Training will be provided.
Visiting Care Recipients in Aged Care Facilities in Ballarat and Ballan – (Uniting Ballarat – A140)
Use your Friendship to ease the loneliness of another. Spend an enjoyable couple of hours providing companionship to a lady or man.
Community Visitor Scheme volunteers are required to visit aged care recipients who may have no or little family support. Your time together can be spent talking, listening, reading, making craft items, watching video screenings, playing chess, cards, board games or going for walks and a drive if you wish. Orientation, training and supervision provided.
