2018 National Volunteer Week – Volunteering: The Past, Present & Future

National Volunteer Week provides a great opportunity for us all to say thank you to the many volunteers who help make our community stronger and encourage more people to get involved. It is a time recognise the work of volunteers and for volunteers to tell us why they give their time.

The official Volunteer Flag will fly in the centre of Sturt Street opposite the Town Hall for the week.

National Volunteer Week Launch, Monday 21 May, 10am, Gardiner Pittard Building, Ballarat Base Hospital

Official launch of National Volunteer Week to celebrate and acknowledge the wonderful work of volunteers in the Ballarat region with a morning tea and special guests.


Volunteer Expo, Monday 21 May  – Friday 25 May 2018, Gardiner Pittard Building, Ballarat Base Hospital

Ballarat Health Services are holding a Volunteer Expo in the Gardiner Pittard Building. Organisations that have volunteers are invited to display their banner and provide flyers for members of the public. The Gardiner Pittard Building is the main entrance to Ballarat Base Hospital, therefore there will be great exposure for you organisation and the work of your volunteers. Volunteers will be on-site to answer questions regarding volunteering in the community.

Festival of Volunteering, Saturday, 26 May 2018, 10am-2pm, Housey Housey, 12 Armstrong Street North

The Festival of Volunteering will showcase the many and varied volunteer organisations in our region. It will include display stalls, entertainment and the opportunity to talk to volunteers about their contribution and what they gain from their volunteering role. You will be able to also find out how to become a volunteer yourself.
