What is the Ballarat Imagination Library?

United Way Ballarat is partners with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library to provide children in Ballarat an age appropriate book, each month, for the first five years of their life? The Dolly Parton Imagination Library delivers over 1 million books each month to young readers around the world, with the aim to engage young children and their families in the joys of reading and as a result improving their literacy levels prior to starting school.

FACT 1.: To date 357 young children have graduated from the Ballarat program and 260 students are currently receiving books monthly.

FACT 2. Due to overwhelming interest there are 296 children on the waiting list at present in the Ballarat area.

Can you sponsor a young reader?

Just a minimum donation of $10 per month will provide a young reader a book for a month that they can share with their family, brothers and sisters and begin them on the path of discovering new adventures and stories.

$120 will provide a set of books for one child, posted to their homes for a year.
