L2P celebrates 10th Birthday & new 5th Car!

The L2P Ballarat Learner Driver Mentor program celebrated its 10th birthday this year.

Supported by VicRoads, TAC, City of Ballarat and administered by United Way Ballarat. The L2P program provides young people, aged 16-21, who do not have access to a car or responsible driver, the opportunity to accumulate the 120 hours required to gain its probationary licence. Our volunteer mentor drivers have successfully tutored over 450 learners in the past decade, offering over 11,000 hours of their time to support the program. It is an achievement we are all very proud of.

We are also very excited to have launched the 5th car to the L2P Ballarat fleet which has been possible with the support of Child and Family Services (CAFS), Bendigo Bank Bunninyong & District and Ballarat South Rotary. The additional car will allow more young people to access required driving time and experience to gain their licence and as a result improve their prospects.

So keep an eye out for all the L2P cars on the road and give the volunteer and learner a friendly wave!
