Help Ballarat’s Parks Stay Beautiful – Canadian Regional Park
Come to Canadian’s Regional Park and explore the lovely native flora and fauna.
Our team will be removing pine wilding to help restore ecological health and reduce fuel load surrounding the area.
Number of volunteers required
The Role is based at:
Monday 19th June & Tuesday 20th June 2017
Meeting time is at 8:00am at the Ballarat train station where you will then be transported to the worksite by CVA. You will be dropped back off at the train station at the end of the day around 4:00pm.
If it’s easier for you to meet on site, this can be arranged.
You do not have to commit to the two days – you can apply for just one.
Desirable personal skills/qualities:
Enjoys having fun, likes the fresh air and making a difference to the environment in your local community, learning new things, meeting new people and being active.
Volunteer Role Key duties
Pine wildling removal, so be prepared to handle tools such as hand saws and loppers.
Volunteers need to wear long pants, long sleeves, strong shoes that will support feet and ankles and bring their own lunch and drink bottle.
We also encourage volunteers to bring a hat suitable for the weather (sun hat or beanie).
High vis vest, safety glasses and gloves will be provided by CVA.
