Administrative Professionals Breakfast – a morning of entertainment and appreciation
The 2017 Administrative Professionals Breakfast was another morning of entertainment and appreciation aimed at the people who keep the wheels of businesses across our region turning. The event is United Way Ballarat’s largest fundraiser on the calendar and this year around $12,000 was raised to further our work in the Ballarat community.
Nearly 300 people made their way to the beautiful Ballarat Golf Club at a very early hour and were treated to a lovely meal, lighthearted entertainment and the opportunity to win some fantastic prizes.
MC, Kathy Bedford, kept the morning running smoothly and an eye on our special guest Eureka, from-front-desk. Eureka arrived singing 9 to 5 toting a pile of coffee cups, Kathy interviewed her, bringing out her humorous take on being an administrator. Eureka changed her attire for the Administrative Professional of the Year award with a lovely orange gown unaware that the prize wasn’t for a ‘beauty pageant’ competition. However, Eureka came prepared, with several awards of her own to present to various ‘winners’ in the room.
Guests were guided in a method of relaxation using a particularly easy breathing technique, this was presented by CEO of UFS Dispensaries Lynne McLennan. Jacqui from Fernwood Fitness Ballarat also taught the group some simple stretching exercises particularly useful for those sitting at a desk much of the day. Tables were decorated by the lovely ladies of Wen & Ware who also provided a scented candle for each guest to take back to their workplace as a reminder to breathe deeply and take a break regularly to stretch.
Administrative Professional of the Year
The highlight of the annual breakfast is always the announcement of the finalists and winner of Administrative Professional of the Year. This year’s deserving winner is Maxine Reid from UnitingCare Ballarat.
In nominating Maxine, her colleagues said:
“Maxine has been the gentle face of UnitingCare Ballarat’s reception for 14 years in a challenging and dynamic work environment.
