Volunteer Senior Football Coach – Ballarat Bulldogs

Voluntary Position

The Ballarat Bulldogs football team are seeking a Senior Coach for the 2017 season.

About the Ballarat Bulldogs and F.I.D.A.

The Ballarat Bulldogs are a mixed gender football and netball club for people with intellectual disability, who are aged between 14 and 40 years. The Ballarat Bulldogs compete in the Football Integration Development Association (F.I.D.A.) Western Conference.

The F.I.D.A. program aims to provide an environment for people with intellectual disability that promotes fitness, fun, friendship and a sense of belonging. Additionally this participation opportunity enhances life skills and develops self-esteem, confidence and improved health of all participants.

The Ballarat Bulldogs’ fixture includes home and away matches against other all abilities teams from the Grampians, Hamilton, Hampden and the Wimmera. The Bulldogs are based and train at White Flat Oval in Ballarat.

The Ballarat Bulldogs are reigning premiers of the F.I.D.A. Western Conference and remained undefeated in the 2016 season.

Senior Coach Responsibilities

  Coordination and delivery of pre-season training sessions
  Coordination and delivery of fortnightly training sessions
  Delivery of game-day coaching for the five matches of the home and away season
  Delivery of game-day coaching at the F.I.D.A. Western Conference Finals Carnival
  Attend club functions

Essential Requirements
  Working With Children’s Check
  Previous experience in the game of football
  Friendly, welcoming and approachable personality
  Ability to adapt training plans in accordance to each participant’s varying needs, skill level,

age and fitness level
  Capability to interact with people from a wide range of ages and demographics

Desirable Requirements
  AFL Level 1 Coaching Accreditation (must be acquired prior to the commencement of role, the club will assist successful applicant to obtain this training if required)
  Previous experience working with people living with intellectual disability
  Previous experience in football coaching
