Volunteer Newsletter Coordinator – YMCA Ballarat

Ballarat YMCA has been active in the Ballarat community since 1878. Ballarat YMCA is a community-based organisation which delivers programs and services to build healthier, happier and connected communities. We work in partnership with local government, non-profit groups and other community service organisations in the areas of recreation, health and fitness, children’s services, youth and family services.

Key Responsibilities

We’d like to offer a regular newsletter to our staff and volunteers, but we need volunteers interested and skilled in order to do it. The main activities of the Newsletter Coordinator position would be:

• Collect and edit articles for newsletter

• Collaborating with staff and volunteers on articles for the newsletter

• Plan, organise, edit and write parts of the content of the newsletter

• Publishing the newsletter on a fortnightly basis

• Electronically distributing newsletter to staff and volunteers

• Maintain the contact list for newsletter distribution

• Proficient computer skills – use of Word, emailing and Interne

Desirable personal skills/qualities

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Willing to learn new skills,

• Passion, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed

• Previous experience in a non-profit

• Previous experience publishing newsletters or other publications

• Previous experience using mailing list software for newsletter distribution

Commitment required

Min 4 hours per week.
