RSL Celebrates Veterans Health Week

Veterans Health Week was celebrated by the Ballarat RSL on the 12th of October 2016 with a musical afternoon.

Sing Australia Choir (all volunteers) sang a variety of tunes from the 1930’s up to the contemporary music of today.

A solo performance by Hettie and her daughter Alicia – both RSL volunteers, was beautifully done and very haunting.

A comedy number by one of the male members had everyone joining in the chorus.

Marilyn, who conducts the choir, performed a ‘Nightingale Sang in Barclay Square’ without accompaniment, beautifully done.

Afterwards, a sumptuous morning tea provided by the George Hotel was enjoyed by the choir and the audience.

The afternoon was a great way to celebrate social inclusiveness the theme for this year’s Veterans Health Week.

Thank you to Lynne Redman from the RSL for this story.
