Administrative Professionals Breakfast 2016
Friday, May 9 dawned and over 300 people descended on the Ballarat Golf Club for a 6.45am breakfast in honour of the administrative professionals in our region.
Guests enjoyed a gourmet breakfast as the sun rose over the beautiful surroundings of the greens and fairways.
MC for the morning, Jules of PowerFM’s brekkie show, also broadcast live with her co-host Kris at the venue, interviewing various people during the show.
Many guests took advantage of the opportunity to have their hair and make-up done, along with the opportunity for a massage thanks to the generosity of Myer Ballarat, Evolve Mobile Massage and Angel Hair and Beauty Institute who provided pamper stations.
Tegan Higginbotham, comedian, kept the morning light with stories of her questionable skills in administration. The room chuckled along with her misadventures and probably related to many of them. Hopefully, everyone went away with the ability to see the amusing side of their personal mistakes.
John Fitzgibbon from PowerFM announced Lauren Gervasoni as the Ballarat Administrative Professional of the Year for 2016, and told of the glowing nomination from Lauren’s workplace.
Lauren works at GForce and her workmates say:
“Lauren is our glue. She completes each and every one of us, assisting us all in the provision of quality services to all our stakeholders.
She tackles everything with the utmost willingness and consistently exceeds expectations. Always one step ahead, she identifies and has completed tasks, in which we require assistance before she is even asked. Her initiative, attention to detail and maturity is beyond her years. Lauren is a ‘doer’; she gets the job done. Through these elements, her approachable nature and positive can-do attitude, she creates a positive work culture within our business.”
In her acceptance speech, Lauren told of attending the breakfast in 2015. When they announced the winner, Lauren’s supervisor leant over and said ‘that will be you next year!’
Lauren’s prize consisted of a Warm Harmony Package from Peace & Quiet and a 12 Month Membership package from Fernwood Women’s Health Club Ballarat. Lauren also received a glass trophy.
The morning was a huge success, with the biggest beneficiary being the Ballarat community. Money raised from the sale of the unique table centrepieces went towards the McCallum Disability Support craft group. All other money raised from raffles, auctions and ticket prices will fund community programs in the areas of Education, Income, and Health, through the Ballarat Community Fund.
Congratulations to the other finalists for the Administrative Professional of the Year. Your nomination is a testament to the appreciation your workplace has for you.
