Daylesford Hepburn Smash Repairs to the rescue for L2P
Margaret’s car was recently involved in an incident with one of our L2P Learner Driver Mentor Program cars. Having received one very high quote for fixing the damage, Margaret then went to see Jim Marks at Daylesford Hepburn Smash Repair to get his quote. Jim offered to see if he could fix the damage there and then!
After Jim did his magic, to Margaret’s surprise she was unable to tell where the damage had even been.
Margaret explained to Jim how the damage had happened and how bad she felt for the learner driver involved, she told Jim what she knew about the L2P program and how vital it is to our community. Jim, in turn, offered to donate his time and effort with no charge to United Way, saving the program a minimum of $600 and a lot of paperwork. “It was the least I could do for such a worthy project,” he said.
The remarkable people that offer their help, continually amaze the team at United Way Ballarat and remind us what a wonderful community we live in.
Ten years ago Jim opened a smash repairs business in Gisborne passing it onto his son Bryce who is still successfully running the business. Jim has only been at his new workshop in Daylesford for 18 months after seeing a need in the area for a high class repairer equipped to service high-powered newer cars with new technology.
United Way Ballarat and the L2P team wish to say a big Thank You to Jim Marks and the team at Daylesford Hepburn Smash Repairs.
