Development of Community Health and Fitness Hub – CRESWICK DANCE AND FITNESS
Your donations at work (mid-year update)
Debbie * is one of our participants who has a condition called EDS for which there is no cure, only preventative exercise can help. Debbie has encountered many complications and surgeries over the years and had hip surgery late last year; she found that the physio she was prescribed was not enough to help her in recovery.
Debbie has been attending yoga, pilates and adult ballet at CDFC since we opened and has seen remarkable improvement in her recovery and also in her overall health and physical well-being.
Debbie strongly advocates the importance of exercise programs for people with managing an injury, disability, recovery or complex conditions, and has vowed to continue with the programs having experienced the benefits. She actively spreads the word to others about how important it is to not take these physical conditions lying down, but to fight to maintain and build mobility, fitness and strength, for a long happy life.” *not her real name
A community hub for dance and fitness in Creswick
Recognising the need for specialised classes to support the needs of certain groups within the community such as pregnant women, the elderly, diabetes and obesity sufferers and new mums, funding was provided for materials to renovate a venue handed over to this group by Hepburn Shire for development into a new health and fitness community hub.
