United Way Newsletter March 2014

HiThank you so much for your continued support! In the past few months we have started allocating your donations to very worthy community groups – look over the list of programs below.

We can’t do it without your passion and commitment to support our community. The tough decisions are made by a committee of volunteer community leaders who assessed nearly 50 applications for funding this year.

You are making a real difference to many of our most vulnerable citizens.

This year’s Ballarat Advocacy Program is underway, and the  Seeing is Believing Tour again has again opened eyes to the what lies behind doors. Attached is a summary written by Alicia Thomas of The Courier.

I hope to see you at Sunday’s movie event presenting GREASE at Fairyland at Lake Wendouree. The weather looks perfect! Bring a group and sing loudly, dress up and dance along with us! The funds raised will go towards the Literacy programs we are so passionate about! Should be fun!

And there is plenty more… please scroll down… and share widely.

United Way Ballarat is working to advance the common good of our community by focusing on Education, Income and Health.  These are the building blocks for a good life—a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and good health.  United Way Ballarat asks all the citizens of Ballarat and surrounding areas to do three things: GIVE – money and goods; ADVOCATE – on behalf of those who cannot; and VOLUNTEER – to invest time in our community More about United Way Ballarat
