Lead On Ballarat joins forces with United Way
Lead On is a community organisation ‘Here for YOUth’ offering opportunities for young people to get involved with the community.
Geoff Sharp, CEO of United Way Ballarat and now Lead On Ballarat is excited to announce this new partnership. He says, ‘Lead On is a great fit for United Way with our focus on Education, Income and Health. Lead On provides all of these in reaching out to the young people of our community giving them the opportunity to build skills with industry mentors.’
eventYOUth – youth building hands on skills in event management by organising community events.
Log_on – industry mentors work with young people to build skills in web development.
Get Reel – youth creating short films on topics important to them under the guidance of industry professionals.
L2P – trained community volunteers mentor disadvantaged young people to get their 120 hours compulsory driving experience in order to gain their probationary licence.
Loop – young people gaining valuable experience in copywriting, editorial, production, journalism, creative writing, graphic design, photography and pictorial aspects of media.
Take back the streets – professional artists work with young people to create and paint artworks onto designated public facilities and spaces.
